In 25 years as a physician anesthesiologist, Dr. Sarah Bodin has cared for thousands of patients with the disease of obesity, and its many end effects.  She has seen the bias against people with obesity in the healthcare system from inside, and offers empathy and understanding for the challenges of this disease.

Dr. Bodin has mastered pharmacology and physiology, as well as developing a quick trusting relationship with her patients. Heart and vascular disease, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), cancer, joint disease, kidney and liver disease, and diabetes mellitus, are among the common obesity-related diseases she has managed around surgery and anesthesia.

After her own personal struggles with weight, in addition to her experience in operating rooms and hospitals, she developed the desire to treat the chronic disease that contributes to 236 other diseases: obesity and overweight.  She began studying obesity and its treatment specifically in 2022, finding that the medical community has much to learn, and to overcome the unjust stigma that the disease carries with it. Though treating and preventing this disease is vital, helping people achieve the health and quality of life they desire is even more important.
